Let’s learn a bit more about Saudi Arabia
In the Arabian Peninsula, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the biggest nation. East of the Mississippi River, it covers a territory that is roughly the size of the United States. According to the 2010 census, Saudi Arabia has a population of 27 million people, including 8.4 million foreigners. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the largest nation in the Middle East, has a varied and rich landscape, including the Nabatean Kingdom’s ruins in Al-‘Ula, the Rub’ al Khali desert, opulent beach resorts in Jeddah, and the mountains of Taif, where rose groves coexist with some of the most prized dates in the world. Riyadh, the nation’s capital, offers a fascinating contrast of historic souks and contemporary skyscrapers, as well as natural wonders like the Edge of the World Park’s cliffs, which are just outside the city. There are forests, grasslands, mountain ranges, and deserts in Saudi Arabia, which has a diverse topography. From region to region, there are different climates. In the summer, the desert can reach over 110 degrees Fahrenheit, while in the north and centre of the nation, it can get below freezing in the winter. The average annual rainfall in Saudi Arabia is only four inches.
Religious pilgrimages still make up a large portion of Saudi Arabian tourism. Over three million pilgrims travel to Mecca each year to perform the Hajj during the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, and about two million do the Umrah during the month of Ramadan. Throughout the rest of the year, around four million people travel to Mecca for Umrah. The duration of stay is 90 days, and the multiple-entry tourist visa is valid for one year from the date of issuance. The 30-day maximum stay is allowed with a single-entry tourist visa, which is valid for three months from the date of issuance.
